Best for a long time fish was still hot at the end as was the scampi my new goto or chips in this area
We decided to come in here as we fancied a more relaxed environment and it was just that. The food was soooo good and the portion size was great. You could tell everything was cooked fresh and the chicken nuggets were made and not cooked from frozen. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff were friendly and attentive

Everything about this place is just incredibly average, the fish and chips were good, and the chicken pie was also okay but the mushy peas weren’t for me. The service wasn’t bad and neither were the prices but nothing was super great.
The 'New' Celtic Restaurant is a place that we have regularly visited for the last 4 decades, during days out, or on our way to Aberystwyth - it's well known to locals and holiday makers alike. First and foremost, The Celtic is a fish & chips restaurant at heart. However, since acquiring the former Monachty Arms in 2020 right next door, the last few years have seen the New Celtic emerge alongside the decidedly up-market Y Seler as a facelifted, gastro fish and chips venue. The upside of the new acquisition is that the fine dining at Y Seler has influenced the menu at the New Celtic. The fish & chips are great, but so are their chicken curries, lasagne and gammon steaks. So cast your eyes on the photos and ask yourself - when is the last time you've seen food served this good at a chippy? Whilst dining in will cost more than the take away, it opens up the option to enjoy a nice alcoholic drink with your food, great desserts along with all the traditional fayre - still at a very reasonable price - offering great value. Win win. Highly recommended.
Decent food, decent portions and good service. We dined in, was first stop off from Fishguard ferry when touring Wales by motorcycle. We both had cod and chips, despite being on the daily specials was normal price. But did seem to be very freshly cooked; we were waiting a short while and it was piping hot when it came out. Coleslaw was an especially nice addition. Coffee was also piping hot and decent. Dessert was apple/fruit crumble and cheesecake, both also good. Price was a bit on the upper end for my liking but I'd rather pay €20 for something I enjoy than €5 for something I don't. Recommended.
Lovely fish and chips, although they were a little bit greasy. Staff very friendly. Sat outside as restaurant jam packed. Too many tables crammed in, and a couple right outside the toilets. Lovely!
Vibrant atmosphere. Good service. Friendly staff. Decent food.
